I just found a very interesting map of Europe delineating countries by age of sexual consent.

Most interesting are the extremes. Spain has the lowest:13 years of age. The thought is probably, ‘well, they’re gonna do it anyway, so let’s decriminalize it’. Meanwhile, the legal drinking age there is 18 (among the highest for Europe). It’s only a matter of time before they lower that age too. Cannabis is already decriminalized in Spain. I’ve never been to Turkey or Ireland (the other end of the spectrum) so I can’t say. I’d like to hear some commentary from anyone who’s lived there. I’d also love to see a map of Europe outlining age of ‘lazy ass jobless college students still mooching off their parents’. Back in the States things are even more bizarre. In the state of New Mexico, for example, the legal age of consent is 17 unless it is homosexual, then consent age drops to 16.
